Dùthchas Beò 2025

Gaelic

Anns a’ Chèitean 2025, chuir CHARTS fàilte air luchd-frithealaidh Dùthchas Beò: Ceanglaichean às ùr ri Uachdar na Dùthcha, cruinneachadh fa leth a rinn sgrùdadh air na ceanglaichean beò eadar dualchas na Gàidhlig, gnàthasan, agus saoghal an nàdair.

Air a stiùireadh le Oifigear Cultair Ghàidhlig CHARTS Àdhamh Ó Broin, dh’iarr an cruinneachadh beachdan air cuspairean a’ bualadh air dualchas beò, gnàthasan nan Gàidheal, agus an cuideam air gnàthasan stèidhichte air an fhearann ann an saoghal an latha an-diugh. Rinn an luchd-frithealaidh ceangal ri uachdar na dùthcha tro chànan is tro dhualchas, a’ cur ris na ceanglaichean aca ri àiteachan. Chuir an cruinneachadh cuideam air cleachdadh cultarail na Gàidhlig gus cruth a chur air càirdeasan seasmhach is coitcheann ris an fhearann.

Fhuair cruinneachadh 2025 taic bho Sgoil Tionnsgalachd is Teicneòlais Sgoil-ealain Ghlaschu, mar chuid de chlàr farsaing (Re)Designing Landscape Stewardship. Chuir seisean airson bheachdan, air a stiùireadh le Zoë Prosser bho Sgoil-ealain Ghlaschu, ri tionnsgnadh-rannsachaidh a’ sgrùdadh mar a thèid againn air ceanglaichean a chruthachadh às ùr ris an fhearann air feadh na h-Alba.

Tha an obair seo mar chuid den chom-pàirteachas a’ dol air adhart le Sgoil Tionnsgalachd is Teicneòlais Sgoil-ealain Ghlaschu mar chuid de (Re)Designing Landscape Stewardship, a tha ga mhaoineachadh le Comhairle Rannsachaidh nan Ealain is nan Daonnachdan agus  Future Observatory. Tha an tionnsgnadh ga stiùireadh leis an Dr Michael Pierre Johnson agus Zoë Prosser, Luchd-rannsachaidh aig Sgoil Tionnsgalachd is Teicneòlais Sgoil-ealain Ghlaschu.

English

In May 2025, CHARTS welcomed participants to Dùthchas Beò: Revitalising Reciprocity with the Gaelic Landscape, a unique event that explored the living connections between Gaelic culture, ceremony, and the natural world.

Led by CHARTS Gaelic Culture Officer Àdhamh Ó Broin, the event invited reflection on themes of living indigeneity, Gaelic ceremonial practice, and the relevance of land-based ritual in today’s world. Participants engaged with the landscape through language and heritage, deepening their connection to place. The gathering highlighted the role of Gaelic cultural practice in shaping sustainable and reciprocal relationships with the land.

The 2025 event was supported by the School of Innovation and Technology at Glasgow School of Art, as part of the wider (Re)Designing Landscape Stewardship programme. A creative reflective session, led by Zoë Prosser of GSA, contributed to an ongoing research project exploring how we can revitalise reciprocity with land across Scotland.

This work is part of an ongoing partnership with The School of Innovation and Technology at Glasgow School of Art as part of (Re)Designing Landscape Stewardship, which is funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council and Future Observatory. The project is led by Dr Michael Pierre Johnson and Zoë Prosser, Research Fellows at The School of Innovation and Technology at Glasgow School of Art. CHARTS Gaelic Culture Officer is funded by Bòrd na Gàidhlig and supported by Argyll and Bute Council
