The Argyll Collection on Tour

Join CHARTS and The Argyll Collection as we get ready to take works by some of Scotland’s most celebrated artists on a tour to rural schools, libraries and village halls around Argyll.

BEURA

A new Gaelic arts project, Beura brings together music by Highland composer Lisa Robertson and visuals by Orcadian filmmaker Gregor D. Sinclair. Reimagining traditional Gaelic folklore through a contemporary environmental lens, the piece is produced in partnership with Creative Scotland and Tobar an Dualchais.

VACMA 2026/27

Applications are now open for VACMA (Visual Artist and Craft Maker Awards), offering £500 and £1,000 bursaries to support visual artists and craft makers across Scotland. Funding can help with training, mentoring, research, residencies, sustainable materials, essential equipment and creating new work. Cruthaich Earra-Ghàidheal Awards Announcement

CHARTS has announced the recipients of the new Cruthaich Earra-Ghàidheal awards, a funding programme supported by Bòrd na Gàidhlig that celebrates Gaelic language and culture across Argyll and Bute. Supporting artists, musicians, writers, and creative practitioners, the awards help bring new projects to life while strengthening the region's rich Gaelic heritage through creativity.

In May 2026 CHARTS took part in Argyll’s 5th Gaelic Gathering, joining Gaelic voices from across the region to share work supporting Gaelic language, culture, and heritage. Projects including AITHNE, Columban Connections, and Cruthaich Earra-Ghàidheal were highlighted, alongside future plans for CHARTS’ Gaelic Strategy and new Gaelic Members Group.

Bioregioning Kintyre: Community-Led Nature Restoration

In Spring 2026, Campbeltown Museum will welcome artist Eòghann Mac Colla as the final resident of Ceanglan Chaluim Chille, a pilot programme exploring cultural connections between Scotland and Ireland. Running from Winter 2025 to Spring 2026, the project is inspired by the legacy of Colmcille (St. Columba) and builds on Cuairt Chaluim Chille (CHARTS, 2023–2024), strengthening cross-border creative collaboration through shared history and contemporary practice.
