Growing Global Networks grew CHARTS Placemakers: Microcluster Networks, developed in collaboration with Dr Michael Pierre Johnson, Creative Economy Innovation Leadership Fellow at the School of Innovation and Technology at the Glasgow School of Art.
The GGN programme facilitated discussion and growth around international practice, including webinars, mapping sessions, and opportunities for artists in Argyll to work internationally. Based on member interest and response, Growing Global Networks facilitated and funded a small group of new micro-projects to enable 9 CHARTS members from Argyll and Bute to work with international partners.
Growing Global Networks:
- Listened to and shared the ambitions and challenges to international working identified by CHARTS members.
- Spotlight the work of a range of CHARTS members already working internationally.
- Raised awareness of a wide range of approaches to international working.
- Identified gaps for development and inform future opportunities.
- Initiated new collaborations.
- Explored the ethics and logistics of international working and encouraged best practices.
- Make tangible links with international networks in 10 countries.
Explore the programme insights and case studies, which share insights and a new understanding of how and why to work internationally. All of these activities act as a process of research and scoping to inform, shape and underpin planning for sustained international working.
