Dùthchas Beò 2024

Gaelic

Ann an 2024, thill Dùthchas Beò, a’ sgrùdadh gnàthasan Gàidhlig agus mar a tha iad a’ bualadh air saoghal an là an-diugh. Chuir an tachartas, le taic bho ABCAN, ri cruinneachadh na bliadhna roimhe. Thug seisean an fheasgair sùil air a’ cheangal dhomhainn eadar a’ Ghàidhlig agus cruth na tìre, a’ deasbad mu ghnàthasan stèidhichte air an fhearann agus mun chuideam na lùib an-diugh. Thadhail na bha an làthair air làraichean coisrigte ann an Earra-Ghàidheal, rinn iad ìobairtean, agus chaidh iad an sàs ann an gnàthas sìmplidh gus ceangal às ùr ris an fhearann. Thàinig an tachartas gu crìch ann an Achadh an Droighinn far an do chuir an luchd-pàirteachaidh air a’ bhaile agus chuala iad seanchas mu dhòigh-beatha dlùth ris an fhearann sna làithean a dh’aom.

In 2024, Dùthchas Beò | Revitalising Reciprocity With The Gaelic Landscape returned, offering an exploration of Gaelic ceremonial practices and their relevance today. The event, supported by ABCAN, built on the previous year’s gathering.

The afternoon session focused on the deep connection between the Gaelic language and landscape, discussing land-based ritual and its role in modern life. Participants visited sacred sites in Argyll, made offerings, and engaged in a simple ceremony to reconnect with the land. The event concluded at Auchindrain, where participants explored the township and listened to stories about life as lived close to the land in days gone by.

This event was funded by The Argyll and Bute Climate Action Network (ABCAN) Hub, CHARTS Gaelic Culture Officer is funded by Bòrd na Gàidhlig and supported by Argyll and Bute Council
