Lyndsey Davidson Better Than Gold

English

Lyndsey Davidson is a multidisciplinary printmaker and letterpress printer at The Hunter Press, drawing inspiration from the landscape of Highland Perthshire and Scots and Gaelic. Her practice blends traditional techniques with alternative photographic processes like Cyanotype and Photogravure, exploring themes of perception, nature, and science. Lyndsey is currently developing a print studio with plans for community engagement, including printmaking classes and outreach projects, particularly with local schools such as Breadalbane in Aberfeldy, which has a Gaelic unit. She also works on personal letterpress commissions incorporating the Gaelic language.

Incorporating the Gaelic language within my prints allows me to feel connected to our culture and landscape, with the wider hope that my work ignites a conversation around our beautiful language, be it between Gaelic speakers or non-speakers.” - Lyndsey Davidson
