KNOCKvologan Studio

Tha KNOCKvologan na ionad cruthachail a tha stèidhichte ann am Muile, a bhios a’ cruthachadh cheanglaichean eadar sgeulachdan ionadail agus seallaidhean cruinneil. Air a stèidheachadh leis an luchd-ealain Miek Zwamborn agus Rutger Emmelkamp, tha an studio a’ toirt buaidh bho chànan is bho dhùthchas na Gàidhlig, a’ dèanamh rannsachadh air cuspairean mar ìomhaigh, a’ choimhearsnachd agus ceangal dlùth ris an fhearann. Tro phròiseactan co-obrachaidh leithid KNOCKvologan Residency Programme, tha an studio a’ lìonadh bheàrnan eadar cultaran, a’ comharrachadh seasmhachd dualchas na Gàidhlig agus ga thoirt do luchd-èisteachd an là an-diugh. Le bhith a’ toirt còmhla ealain, nàdar agus coimhearsnachd, tha KNOCKvologan Studio a’ cruthachadh seasmhachd agus tuigse nas doimhne air an àrainneachd choitcheann againn.

“Dhuinne, tha luachan bunaiteach na Gàidhlig – a’ choimhearsnachd, seasmhachd, agus ceangal domhainn ris an fhearann – gu math bunaiteach a thaobh leasachadh seasmhach nan coimhearsnachdan agus na leigheas cumhachdach air bagairt san àm ri teachd leithid neo-ionannachd, às-dhùnadh, agus crìonadh air an àrainneachd.” – KNOCKvologan Studio

KNOCKvologan Studio is a creative hub based on Mull, dedicated to fostering dialogue between local stories and global perspectives. Founded by artists Miek Zwamborn and Rutger Emmelkamp, the studio draws inspiration from Gaelic language, culture, and traditions, exploring themes of identity, community, and the intimate connection with the land. Through collaborative projects, such as the KNOCKvologan Residency Programme, the studio bridges cultural divides, celebrating the resilience of Gaelic heritage while making it accessible to contemporary audiences. By merging art, nature, and community, KNOCKvologan Studio inspires sustainable futures and nurtures a deeper understanding of our shared environment.

“For us, the core values of Gaelic culture - community, resilience, and a deep connection to the land - are fundamental to the sustainable development of communities and offer a powerful antidote to future threats such as inequality, exclusion, and environmental degradation.” - KNOCKvologan Studio
